Use the "Extended Desktop" feature on your MacThis video (above) walks through some helpful reminders about using the Displays tab in System Preferences (in Mac OS X) to interface with your projector, as well as to potentially create an extended screen your students cannot see, but that you can see and access.
The video below provides a slightly different explanation, using a second monitor or Apple TV, and shares a helpful shortcut from jumping between "Mirror Displays" mode and "Extended Desktop" mode. 1 DEVICE SETUP: Set up one device , using "extended desktop" . . . Following the newly revised slide above will also allow you to share videos without audio feedback (and it means there is no need for a separate "How to share video at home and in class" slide for teachers using a two-device setup).
