COMPREHENSIVE DISTANCE LEARNING SUPPORT:
Learning From One Another,

Fellow teachers committed to supporting our colleagues in becoming even more effective than they already are

Each of us became teachers to BE teachers. And that is what we remain.

WE ARE TEACHERS. We continue to teach two class periods, dealing with planning, learning targets, assessment, grading, Canvas, Synergy, department collaboration, and so much more.

CRAIG (Instructional Coach on A days): Putting the "Cr" in "Crecky," Craig continues to teach seniors in Government & Economics (having previously taught 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade courses in Social Studies, including Focus, World History, IB Psychology and IB History I, in addition to Journalism, Newspaper, Yearbook and Personal Finance).

BECKY (Instructional Coach on B days) continues to teach freshmen in English 9 and previously taught English 10 and Advanced English 9 for many years.

DAN (Instructional Tech Coach during period 3 on A day) teaches Biology (9th grade) and IB Biology I, as he has for many years.

WE ARE ALSO A RESOURCE TO TEACHERS. We are available to meet with you during your prep period any day - we can come to your class or you can drop by our office (located within the main office). We will work together on whatever you think is most helpful to what you're trying to accomplish right now. Some ideas are listed below, but we're available as a resource to help you accomplish the goals you set for yourself, or to think through possibilities when you want someone to bounce ideas off of. Just let us know if you have an idea or a question.

"If all teachers accept the need to improve practice, not because they are not good enough,
but because they can be even better, and focus on the things that make the biggest difference to students, according to the research, we will be able to prepare our students to thrive
in the impossibly complex, unpredictable world of the 21st century."
- DYLAN WILIAM (Embedded Formative Assessment, 2011)

What We Do

Non-evaluative listening, reflecting, brainstorming,
sharing, demonstrating and more

Teaching is anything but easy. Effective teaching that produces the learning outcomes that we all want to see is very difficult indeed. Fortunately, we have an amazing staff at Tualatin High School, and that means we can learn from one another and meet the challenges that will naturally arise throughout the school year. One of our roles is to help facilitate the learning of effective practices from one another. Every role we play is non-evaluative. The aim is to help you accomplish the goals you set for yourself that will improve student outcomes in any number of ways.
